Ideal Appearance

The media is already influencing people without them even knowing it.
Magazines, television, movies, billboards, etc., are corroded with the image of perfection and beauty. This sends the message to teenage girls that in order to be beautiful, they have to look a certain way, therefore making them go through any extreme to fit the flawless image. Do you think the media puts too much pressure on the average American person?

  1. The media does put too much pressure on our society. They put out a message that everyone needs to look like the people in magazines to be accepted. This is wrong, and not the way to live. People should be happy with who they are nad not have to think they need to look like models to be accepted in their society.

  2. I agree, people should be happy with what they have and how they look. Celebrities put way too much pressure on people especially young teens. Girls feel like they need to look like celebrities in order to be pretty and thats not true.

  3. Teens are the main target when media is trying to influence people. Especially with examples such as cigarettes. They put the pictures of celebrities smoking right at eye level with young children.

  4. I think teens are targeted in most commercials. Everything from wearing makeup to dieting is on t.v. Girls are goig to think they can look just like the firls on t.v. Everyone has to realize though that people on t.v are not perfect themselves.
