Censorship

Censorship is the activity of looking carefully at published material and removing parts which are thought to be offensive or, often, politically dangerous. This can be in television shows, book or movies. Many children and young adults today are not exposed to everything they could be in terms of education and entertainment due to the emphasis our society puts on censorship. Should people be able to view or listen to whatever they like or should there be a limit?

  1. I think censorship is a good thing for the most part. The radio shouldn't be allowed to play music with vulgar words unless it's edited and some television shows are just not appropriate for some ages. Censorship allows things to be removed or reviewed and can really be beneficial unless taken to far. Right now, I think there is a good amount of censorship but if they start becoming to strict, it would limit the idea of people expressing themselves.

  2. I think censorship should be put in effect only when it has to due with public activities that involve children. If you want to watch something uncensored or listen to explicit songs, then there are many other ways to do so.
